Who We Are
CGO&O is a not-for-profit, professional opera company and orchestra whose performances continue to receive attention in such prestigious forums as The New York Times, London's The Financial Times, Opera News, Opera Magazine and The New Yorker.
CGO&O holds the distinction of being only the third American opera company to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival.
CGO&O presents to area residents and visitors world-class operatic and orchestral performances featuring innovative productions and international talent including Marilyn Horne, Sherrill Milnes, Arvin Brown,Tom O'Horgan, Alessandra Marc, Peter Serkin, Mischa Dichter and Renee Fleming.

CGO&O makes opera more accessible to a general public by its convenient location in Southwestern Connecticut, by its lower ticket prices and through the use of English supertitles.
CGO&O fosters an appreciation and understanding of opera and orchestral works through education and outreach programs for people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds.
